How it all "Boo"gan.....

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away..... no wait..that's another story....a very good one but not at all relevent here...

The year was 2007, the city was Sarnia, it was fall and Halloween was approaching. Cheryl had just treated herself to a Halloween magazine which generally happens at that time of the year...
In the magazine was a story about a place in NY called Van Cortland Manor that carved and lit up a large number of pumpkins each year that people could go and see. It sounded really amazing! So Cheryl called her brother Lee (who lived in Ottawa) and asked if he and his family would want to meet up at this place and check it out. (Lee and his family were also very fond of Halloween...) They decided to do it. As the time approached for the visit, they had to cancel the trip. This appeared at first to be very unfortunate. However, at this point, Cheryl decided that maybe she could light up a bunch of pumpkins around her house which was a rented very quaint farm house with lots of open space.... perfect for displaying some pumpkins. An idea came to her...why not get friends and family to sponsor her and pay a certain amount per pumpkin that she was able to light up. The money was to go to charity...

.
Many friends and family turned out to help out and support the effort. (...little did they know what they were getting into as this would turn into a yearly event...)

And thus Fiery Faces Fundraiser was born.....

Lee and his family came to visit and help in 2008 and 2009. And then in 2010 they were not able to make it. This was devastating news to Cheryl as they were a very big help with the event. Lee decided to try a Fiery Faces event in Ottawa and thus began the Ottawa Chapter in 2010. It was wonderful that the fundraiser was expanding but Cheryl knew that Lee would be hooked and would likely not see her brother on Halloween again...

Fiery Faces Fundraiser is an event, not a charity. We attempt to partner with existing local charities to help them raise money. We are not associated with a particular charity and try to change it up each year. We try to help out those charities that may not get as much recognition as others do.

Our main goal is to have fun and enjoy the creativity that the Halloween spirit brings....
